LUKOIL to Spend $300 Million in Ukraine
LUKOIL-Neftekhim Group made a $300-million contract with German UHDE to step up facilities of its Ukrainian venture, Karpatneftekhim (Kalush-town, Ivano-Frankovsk region).
The contract of LUKOIL-Neftekhim and UHDE that was sealed under the auspices of the meeting of Ukrainian PM Viktor Yanukovich with spokesmen of the oil companies operating on the market of Ukraine provides for constructing suspension polyvinylchloride facilities till 2009.
In the last two years, LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov said, “the ungrounded claims to holders suppressed investments in Karpatneftekhim,” but LUKOIL no longer doubts security of funneling funds into Ukrainian assets.
