Kyrgyz Emergency Ministry to Deal With Aftereffects of Earthquake
Southern Kyrgyzstan experienced the six-magnitude earthquake, the Richter scale, late Monday, Interfax reported.
The earth tremor was the strongest in the Batken region, Kyrgyz Emergency Ministry announced Tuesday. No information about the possible victims or destruction is available.
Nevertheless, the Emergency Ministry of Kyrgyzstan is elaborating some plans to eliminate the aftereffects in localities hit by the earthquake of five to six magnitude.
The focus of the earthquake that happened at 11:10 p.m. to 11:21 p.m. local time, Monday, was registered near the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tadjikistan, in the Turkestan chain of mountains, somewhat 90km from Batken, 60km from Sulyukta and 260km from Osh. The earth shocks of five to six intensity on the Richter scale hit Batken and Sulyukta. The intensity lowered to five in Kyzyl-Kie, while Osh had the intensity of four to five.
