Russian Diplomats Allowed to See the Qatari Detainees
February 27, Russian diplomats in Qatar managed to meet their fellow countrymen arrested by local law enforcement agency on suspicion of connection to the murder of one of the leaders of Chechen separatists Zelimkhan Yandarbiev.
The RF embassy in Qatari capital Doha reported the detainees' condition to be "normal", and the diplomats were "doing their best to free them".
Three officers of Russian special services who arrived in Qatar on business were arrested on the night of February 18 to 19. Soon one of them was freed as an owner of diplomatic passport which gives personal immunity.
