Medvedev: Russia Not to Yield to World Order Where All Is Decided by the U.S.
Russia will never yield to the world order where all decisions are taken by the United States exclusively; the world should be multipolar, Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev told reporters in Sochi.
Henceforth, foreign policy of the country will be based on a few guidelines; Russia doesn’t want to confront any state and isn’t going to isolate itself, while its absolute priority is the life, dignity and protection of citizens no matter where they are, Medvedev said.

“If necessary, Russia is ready to pass laws with sanctions against other states, but it isn’t efficient,” the president pointed out.

Moscow will be developing friendly relations with neighbors. “It also relates to South Ossetia and Abkhazia, the independence of which Russia has recognized this week,” Medvedev said, adding that the international agreements of Russia and Abkhazia and Russia and South Ossetia are being elaborated. “These international agreements will record all our commitments for providing the support – the economic, social, humanitarian and military ones. These will be normal, full-fledged relations, the relations of allies,” the president announced.
