Medvedev: Russia, U.S. May Agree On Missile Defense
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev counts on the dialogue with the United States, both with the current and future administration of that country. According to Medvedev, Moscow and Washington may agree on the comprehensive issues, including Europe’s security and missile defense.
I think our relations will be developing both with this administration in the remaining half-year and with the new administration, with which we will be building up relations as well, Russia’s president announced Monday during the bilateral meeting with his U.S. counterpart George W. Bush held in time of the Group of Eight (G8) Hokkaido Toyako summit.
Another question is that there is the traditional agenda, the issues where we are advancing, for instance, Iran and North Korea, but there are the issues where we have come to a standstill, for instance, the missile defense, Europe’s problems and some other, Medvedev pointed out.
But we have the chance to agree on these topics as well, the RF president emphasized, expressing the general comfort when dealing with President Bush and the hope that it would be the same with the future president of the United States.
