Victory Day Parade on Red Square Over
The parade on Red Square marking the 63rd anniversary of victory in World War Two has finished. It was broadcast live on television stations Channel One, Rossiya and Vesti 24. About 8000 soldiers and pieces of military equipment, including planes, took part in the parade. Acting Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov also took part in the parade, and President Dmitry Medvedev gave a speech.
The parade was divided into three parts – foot, mechanical and air. Columns of military equipment followed those of marching soldiers onto Red Square. Spectators saw UAZ and Tiger trucks, armored vehicles, troop carriers, artillery, ballistic missile complexes, S-300 missiles, Iskander missiles and Topol-M missiles.

The airshow began with Mi-8 helicopters. They were followed by An-124 Ruslan heavy transport planes and Su-27 destroyers. Then Ty-160 bombers flew over Red Square, along with Il-78 and Tu-95MS planes, which performed an imitation in-flight refueling. Tu-22M3 and Su-25 fighter jets all took part. The Russian Knights and Swifts aero teams wrapped up the parade.

The parade lasted about one hour.
