EU Won’t Open Energy Market for Russians
Energy companies of Russia are likely to be opposed by the European Commission when attempting to step up sales in Europe, The Financial Times reported Thursday.
Judging by the confidential document, the European Commission suggests creating a number of barriers to prevent foreign companies from penetrating into the energy sector of the EU.
One of the items of that document spells out the so-called reciprocity provision, which limits the market access for the states like Russia and Saudi Arabia. In those countries, the document went on, the foreign corporations face tough barriers when attempting to invest.
