Russia’s First Vice Premier Calls to Advance Technology Exports
Russia’s First Vice Premier Sergey Ivanov, whose previous office was defense minister of the country, advocates aggressive promotion of exports of missile and space technology.
The advance should be achieved by conquering new markets overseas to sell high-tech product of Russia, First Vice Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov said at today’s meeting of Export Control Commission.

In this respect, Ivanov pointed out, of prime importance is development of research and engineering ties with South Korea. The basis for cooperating in using the outer space for civic purposes has been laid by intergovernmental agreements with that country, first vice prime minister pointed out.

But in view of particularities of missile and space cooperation, Ivanov went on, it should be approached cautiously with all actions carefully weighed. All processes should be closely supervised to prevent the leak of information and technology that could be crucial for military purposes.
