Khodorkovsky to Testify If Promised the Return to Moscow
Mikhail Khodorkovsky is ready to testify under the new case if appalling violations of his rights finally end and he is transferred to Moscow, Interfax quoted as saying Yury Schmidt, lawyer of former chief of YUKOS.
Schmidt said his client is ready to retort all charges lodged against him, “from the first to the last word.”

Khodorkovsky is accused of having stolen $23 billion to $25 billion. It is absurd, as “this amount could be stolen by no one, nowhere and never,” the lawyer said some time earlier. “It is more than the company’s revenues.”

Already sentenced to eight years in prison, former YUKOS CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky and former CEO of Group MENATEP Platon Lebedev faced new charges February 5. The additional count specifies laundering money of YUKOS subsidiaries via “donations to Otkrytaya Rossia (Open Russia) Charitable Foundation.”
